I’m sure you’ve heard “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” And maybe you’ve said, “It’s no big deal,” about something that hurt a lot more than something that’s “no big deal” should.
The thing is, the small stuff really IS important….because although you can bury it in a way that makes your conscious mind think you’re all good, your subconscious mind is letting it run the show.
A little guilt
A little shame
A little…you name it. It doesn’t really matter which hard emotion is coming up.
What does matter is that IT’S THE SMALL STUFF THAT ENTIRELY DICTATES YOUR EXPERIENCE when the big stuff hits. So if you don’t address the small stuff, it makes it so much harder to roll with life’s big challenges.
So I say, DO sweat the small stuff.
INSTEAD OF telling yourself it doesn’t matter, or shoving the thought to the back of your head TRY THIS:
Acknowledge those pangs when a memory or overheard conversation or interaction with someone triggers one.
Practice these steps whenever you notice you are triggered, to move that “small stuff” up and out of your system so it stops impacting you in subtle ways that you might not even make a connection to, like…
I could go on, but these really are all just examples of whatever keeps you from FULLY BEING AND LOVING YOU.
And as I’m always saying, THE WORLD NEEDS YOU TO BE ALL YOU, especially right now. YOU TRULY BRING SOMETHING TO THE TABLE THAT NO ONE ELSE DOES, even if you have no idea what that is.
So, if you aren’t motivated to take on this challenge for your own benefit, do it for the rest of us. It’s the season of giving, and this would be a GREAT gift for any of us to give.
ON BEHALF OF THE WORLD, THANK YOU!
And you know…if you’d like some help clearing this small stuff up and out, I can do that.
P.S. Any one else find this little guy fascinating and even a little cute?
